We are not being very lucky with our bulldozers. The one hired yesterday did not even get to the site - big end in Remera!
This one worked very well for 2 hours until smoke started to come from an electrical box. I saw flames from a wire at one point. That was actually sorted quite quickly but then there was an hydraulic leak and that stopped us for 2 hours until the mechanic came along.
This photo shows the exasperation with everyone climbing on and trying to lend hand to get it going!
Gary Macfarlane heads south for his curling training camp. Will he get back in time for key curling competitions, is there any ice in Rwanda, and do the street children of Kigali realise that there is no money in curling! Roger Fleming has decided to head South also. Macfarland has apparently persuaded him that there is kayaking in the Rwandan hills!! More importantly, will the Vocational Training College be built within 6 months.
In the midst of the frustration just remember to rejoice that building work has actually begun!! Being an ecologist by degree and by conviction I have sympathy for all God's wildlife but am happy to have termites live off site - maybe we can landscape in an ecologically friendly way?! Well done for getting things to this point - we'll pray for speedy progress hereon in.
ReplyDeleteBy the way - regarding kayaking - a few years ago some guys canoed all the way up the nile to cyangugu in the south west of Rwanda to find the longest source of the Nile. Perhaps roger could take it to the next level and try it without supplies?
